Flag Status Alert: Maryland Flag is at Half-Staff, United States Flag will be at Half-Staff

This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the United States Flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Saturday, June 22, 2024. This is the day of the funeral service for Agent Davis Martinez of the Maryland Division of Parole and Probation. Agent Martinez was killed in the line of duty on Friday, May 31, 2024.

The Maryland Flag is already flying at half-staff in honor of Agent Davis Martinez. The United States Flag and Maryland Flag will both return to full-staff at sunset on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately. A separate notification will be sent regarding the raising of the Maryland Flag. This action is for Agent Davis Martinez of the Maryland Division of Parole and Probation. Agent Martinez was killed in the line of duty on Friday, May 31, 2024.

This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset, Sunday, June 2, 2024, for Fire and Rescue Memorial Remembrance Day. This day honors all fire, rescue, and emergency medical services personnel from the State of Maryland who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Saturday, June 1, 2024. This is for former State Delegate Doyle Niemann, who passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Former State Delegate Niemann represented Legislative District 47.

President Joseph R. Biden ordered the United States Flag to be flown at half-staff from 12:01am until NOON on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.

President Joseph R. Biden ordered the United States Flag to be flown at half-staff from midnight until sunset on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.

Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag will be at Half-Staff
Per Public Law 107-51 (passed by the 107th United States Congress), the United States Flag is to be flown at half-staff each year in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, in Emmitsburg, Maryland. This year, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will occur on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Therefore, the United States Flag shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Sunday, May 5, 2024. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff as well. No flag may be higher than the United States flag.
