On February 18, 2020, Anne Hoyer, Director of the Maryland Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program, met with Amy Beal, Executive Director of the Judith P. Hoyer Center Early Learning Hubs known as "The Judy Center" and the 11 Program Coordinators from each Judy Center in Baltimore City. While Anne works tirelessly to expand and strengthen collaboration between the ACP and communities throughout Maryland, this partnership is particularly poignant as it connects Anne's professional efforts to her mother's legacy. Anne is the daughter of the late Judy Hoyer who founded an early learning hub- the precursor to the Judy Centers- a few years before her death. Aligning with Ms. Hoyer's vision and based on her model, the Judy Centers promote early childhood education and school readiness. They offer other services to educate and empower those in their community. Because they feel safe and supported at the Judy Centers, individuals sometimes disclose a need for help to flee an abusive situation. The ACP is working with the Judy Centers to train staff to identify these victims of domestic violence and assist with their application to the Safe at Home Program. Together, the Judy Centers and the ACP are making great strides towards creating a brighter, safer future for Maryland's families.
Who are Application Assistants?

Application Assistants help to educate their clients on the benefits, drawbacks, and responsibilities which they will have by becoming a participant in the ACP Program.
