Who are Application Assistants?

Application Assistants are domestic violence professionals who are trained about the Maryland Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program (ACP). They

  • are knowledgeable about the Maryland's ACP law and regulations;
  • can determine if the ACP should be a part of a client's overall safety plan;
  • can explain ACP services and a participant's responsibilities;
  • can assist a client in completing and filing application materials; and
  • are able to offer referrals to other services.

Application Assistants help to educate their clients on the benefits, drawbacks, and responsibilities which they will have by becoming a participant in the ACP Program. These professionals can advise clients on how the ACP Program can contribute to the individual's safety plan. And Application Assistants can help their clients complete the application form.
